Furnace calculations
Specific and hourly heat losses are calculated from the bricks you choose from a pop menu. Each wall can have up to 9 different types of bricks, which you can choose to your liking. You can specify any thickness of the insulation materials including standard thickness of 2½, 4½ or 9 inches. The temperature dependence of the heat conductivity is obtained from quadratic regression of six temperature points, which can be edited by the user. As you enter the bricks the program calculates the new outside dimensions, outside surface temperature for each layer and the over all heat transfer coefficients for each wall. Finally the total heat losses from the furnace are calculated.
